Travel To Israel and Rent A Car at Airport

To travel around the world can be one of the most gratifying experiences given that you get to see the way other people live and you get to taste many things such as their food. I had always been curious about visiting Israel perhaps because I am very drawn to the Israeli history and its past.

While on a trip to Amsterdam in the Netherlands I met a very nice Israeli couple. I was there with a few friends to enjoy the many different museums and canals – I had some of the best Falafel while in Amsterdam, Holland – and while we were discussing topics related to traveling the couple joined us. They suggested that we should visit Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and so we did.

You may be thinking how did we get around when we arrived well there are many different car rental in the Israel airport. The car rental counters are situated on the first floor of the Ben Gurion airport which is the airport closest to Tel Aviv. It’s good to know that the counters are open all day, every day of the week because this is the busiest airport of Israel.

Renting a car is an excellent option if you have some extra cash to spare. The signs are both in Hebrew and in English so you are able to understand where you are going. In some cases buses are a cheap option as long as you know which buses you ought to take to get to your destination. However by renting a car you are the owner of your own time and you decide where to go.

It’s probably best if you rent the car directly from the airport because that way you won’t have to worry about having to catch a bus or a taxi. We made our hotel reservations ahead of time so all we did was print out the directions from the airport to the hotel. Have the hotel phone number handy in case you need to call them for direction. Some car rentals will offer to rent you a cell phone as well; this comes very much in handy if you’re driving because you can call for directions.

Depending on your cell phone from back home you can also try to bring a smartphone with roaming activated that has access to the internet. This can help you as well in case you need to log on to the internet to search for better directions.

Our experience touring Tel Aviv was beautiful. Even though at first we were a bit afraid, renting a car in the Israel airport was one of the best options because we were free to go wherever we wanted with no worries.
