National Park De Hoge Veluwe

One of the largest and the oldest national parks in the Netherlands, the National Park De Hoge Veluwe is a perfect attraction to visit when visiting the Netherlands. With no less than 5, 5000 hectares of woodland, heathland, lakes and driftstand, visitors of the park will surely enjoy the numerous activities that they can do like cycling using one of the free white bicycles or simply enjoy meeting face to face with various plants and animals of different species.
The white bicycles are definitely the most known features of the park. The bicycles that are 1,700 in number helps the visitors to reach all the special places of the park at no extra cost and are available at the entrances of the park.
Those who wanted to stay longer or overnight at the park, they can do the camping at the Hoenderloo entrance that has the simple campsite. Camping would only costs the adults €5.00 per adult while half the price for the kids. The campsite is available from April 1 to November.
The operating hour of the park varies. In January to March the park operates from 9am to 6pm, in April, they are open from 8am to 8pm, on May the open at 8am and closes at 9pm. From June to July, the park operates from 8am to 10pm, while in August, they are open from 8am to 9pm, September 9am to 8pm, October 9am to 7pm and November to December from 9am to 6pm.
Getting to the park is possible with public transport and private car. Via the train stations of Apeldon and Ede-Wageningen, from Apeldon Station, tourist can take the bus number 108 to Hoterloo then form there; they will take the bus number 106 to Otterlo and the bus stops at the park.
